Life Force is the unseen energy that gives living creatures and nature its vitality and strength.

People often ask me what keeps me going to the studio every day to paint because I put so much energy and time into each artwork. For me, the process of painting multiplies my energy and gives me strength.

My hope is that people be in the moment when they look at my art - to have an emotional experience that connects back to my experience of creating the work. I paint to create a life force that emanates from the canvas.

My paintings continue to be created with multiple layers of color that interact with one another in different ways depending on the light and angle of view. I’ve been looking closely at Impressionist paintings lately and have been inspired by the color and brush strokes. The closer you get to these paintings, the more distinct each color becomes.

This is a new way of applying paint in my work. However, my process is still intuitive, painterly and abstract as I respond to the energetic life force that nature exudes.

This new series of original paintings ranges from small framed pieces to large scale canvases. All are focused on the energetic buzz of color and a textured surface that looks like encaustic wax.
