Symphony Orchestra Collab
I recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Windsor Symphony Orchestra's Pop-Up exhibition, which featured the work of 10 local artists.
This two-day event was curated by Lorraine Steele of SHO Gallery, who personally visited my studio to select a painting that would complement both the theme and the other artists' work.
Lorraine Steele selected my painting UNDER THE SEA (above) with its palette of blue, green and delicate aquamarine. I adore this color palette.
UNDER THE SEA was painted this past winter as a memory of previous vacations to the Caribbean. The artwork captures the shimmering sensation of snorkeling just below the surface, basking in the sunlight as it streams through the water from above.
The theme for the exhibition was Edward Elgar’s ENIGMA VARIATIONS. To celebrate, the Symphony Orchestra generously provided each artist with concert tickets for themselves and a guest.
The event included artists’ receptions before and after each WSO concert, which were surprisingly well-attended thanks to the extensive online marketing by SHO Gallery. The Symphony Board made the event even more special by funding appetizers, assorted chocolate truffles, and delicious pastries.
Each of the 10 invited artists featured one painting, showcasing a remarkable variety of styles and interpretations. It was an honor to be among such talented artists and to see our community's creativity celebrated in such a meaningful way.
This event over two days was loads of fun! It was great opportunity to get together with the other artists, friends, colleagues, clients and patrons of the Symphony.❤️
