Commissioned Artwork for Residential Client

This large custom abstract painting, titled LIFE FORCE, was a commissioned artwork created for a private client’s newly built waterfront home. The painting was designed to reflect a deeply personal journey of strength, renewal, and vitality, as it marked the owner's recovery from a significant health challenge. The client requested a piece that would not only serve as a focal point in their modern home but also symbolize a sense of rejuvenation and hope.

Our collaboration began with several in-depth meetings to discuss the vision for the piece. The client was very clear about their desire for a painting that exuded energy and positivity, yet also had a sense of depth and introspection. The overall palette was to be centered around a rich, dark navy blue, which they felt represented both serenity and the vastness of the water view just beyond their windows. To balance this deep tone, they requested lighter areas to bring contrast and lightness, along with touches of red to infuse the work with vitality and passion.

As the project evolved, we explored different ways to incorporate texture into the painting. The client was keen on having a tactile, almost sculptural quality to the piece, so we experimented with various techniques to create layers of texture and dimension. This added an extra layer of complexity and emotion to the artwork, allowing it to visually engage and invite the viewer to connect with it on multiple levels. The final result was a dynamic interplay of color and texture, with dark swathes of blue interrupted by bright, expressive strokes of red, all sitting atop a rich, tactile surface.

The completion of LIFE FORCE was an incredibly rewarding moment. Both the client and I were deeply moved by the final outcome—an artwork that was not only visually striking but also emotionally resonant. The painting now hangs proudly in their living room, a constant reminder of resilience and the strength of the human spirit. Seeing their joy and excitement upon unveiling the piece was one of the most gratifying moments of my career as an artist.
